The history of Acadieville is closely linked to that of Rogersville. The first settlers (around 1871) were mostly builders of the Intercolonial Railway. These early railway workers had obtained land grants from the government through the Member of Parliament for Kent, Mr. Urbain Johnson.
Later, a second group of settlers from Pointe-Sapin, the village of Richibouctou, Saint-Charles, and Cocagne also came to settle in Acadieville.
At the beginning of the settlement, the parish was served by priests from Rogersville. A first chapel was erected in 1871 and moved in 1887 to the site of the current church. Having become too small, it was decided in 1895 to erect a larger church. The interior was completed between 1904 and 1913. A rectory was built in the late 1950s. The last major renovations took place between 1960 and 1968.
