2024 Steubenville Atlantic Youth Conference Calling all youths (Ages 14-18) Steubenville Atlantic Youth Conference will take place this year from July 11th-13th at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Steubenville offers teens a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ that ignites their faith, strengthens their prayer life, and empowers them to live out their mission long after the conference ends. Youth from 9th to 12th grade will be exposed to opportunities for worship, adoration, and reconciliation, while enjoying fellowship with hundreds of other Catholic teens from across Canada. .“CELEBRATING SUNDAY” LITURGICAL FORMATION – Liturgist Catherine Ecker will be offering a three-part Zoom series on the celebration of Sunday liturgy. Each session will take place via Zoom on February 12th, 19th, and 26th at 7:00 pm and run until 9:00 pm. These sessions will be appropriate for any involved in liturgical ministries or anyone who would like to know more about how and why we celebrate. What’s Wrong With Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)? An overview of the three arguments against MAiD, current MAiD practice in Canada, and recent Catholic teaching on euthanasia was presented on Oct 9th 2024 at Holy Family church St in Moncton, by guest speaker Deacon Laurence Worthen from the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. Deacon Worthen is the Executive Director of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) of Canada. CMDA’s mission is to engage, encourage and equip Christian doctors and dentists to integrate Faith in their professional practice, and also to help Canadian Churches evangelize on issues surrounding end of life. In his diaconal ministry he chaired pastoral care for his parish. Deacon Larry has a Master’s in Theology from AST, as well as a Diploma in Adult Education from St FX.
