History
Established in 1878
First church in 1883
First parish priest: 1911
Between 1878 and 1910, pioneers from Sainte-Marie and Prince Edward Island settled in this region. They had the advantage of the newly built railway.
In 1883, the first chapel was built. It was replaced in 1906 by the current church.
The Daughters of Jesus came to teach at the new village school in 1960. They taught in Adamsville until 1974. Their convent became the Golden Age Club in 1981 and is now the Adamsville Community Centre.
Saint Timothy Church in Adamsville is no longer considered a sacred place as of March 31, 2018, in accordance with the decree issued by the Archbishop of Moncton. Saint Timothy Church can no longer be used in any way for divine worship. We would like to sincerely thank the parishioners, committees, and priests who have maintained this church since 1906 for all their efforts and commitment.
